Alexander Verbeek

Next to his position as principal trombonist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, he is one of the founders/players of the New Trombone Collective, member of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble and in 2011 he started as trombone professor at Codarts University of Arts (Rotterdam Conservatory).

Since 2010 he is also member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Brass Ensemble.

Alexander Verbeek studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory with George Wiegel where he finished his Bachelor in 1998 and his Master in 2000. Also in 1998 he started as principal trombonist of the Dutch Ballet Orchestra and in 2000 het switched to his current Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.

Other well known Orchestras he played are: Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Orchestra Mozart.
