Daniël van der Hoeven is a Dutch classical concert pianist. He is praised for his transparent and intimate playing. “It’s like being alone with the composer,” one reviewer wrote about a solo album.
Van der Hoeven won prizes at the Bach competitions in Würzburg and Leipzig, the international competitions in Seattle and Lagny-sur-Marne and at the YPF Piano Competition. He is known for his versatility in performing repertoire from different periods. His first solo album features works by Prokofiev and Bartók, and the second album also features Mozart, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich in addition to Bach. The third album, “Immersed”, includes Bach’s solo sonatas for violin, arranged for piano. They were all received with critical acclaim.
In addition to his solo recitals, Daniël van der Hoeven also regularly plays with orchestras and in chamber music ensembles.
