Junior Huigen

Junior Huigen, who grew up in Steenbergen, Brabant, developed a passion for music. This love was instilled in him by his grandfather, a source of inspiration. He not only shared his knowledge of music theory and the approach to music in general, but also his life wisdom. The words “the tone makes the music” have an enduring meaning for Junior and still form the basis of his musical development.

After completing his previous education and obtaining two bachelor’s degrees in Windband-
conducting and classical trombone, Junior graduated in 2018.

He currently proudly fulfills the role of conductor at two concert orchestras and a brass band, where he managed to lead the brass band of Zoutelande to a higher level during a competition in Veldhoven. In 2021 he founded the West Brabant Fanfare Orchestra.

In addition to his work as a conductor, Junior also plays trombone with Fanfare Korps Nationale Reserve and Brothers in Brass. In between conducting and playing he also takes the time to arrange or compose music for various ensembles. His first composition, “Looking Forward” premiered in 2021, and was followed by several works in recent years.

Junior Huigen is characterized by his unbridled ambition and his drive to take the challenge. His passion is connecting people through music and thereby striving for musical highlights to leave a lasting memory.
