TINASE, This Is Not A Saxophone Ensemble, breaks with traditional expectations of an ensemble. With their rich sound and innovative arrangements, they uniquely present the trombone to a new generation of listeners. TINASE was born in 2022 out of a shared passion for music and a desire to explore the expressive possibilities of the trombone. The founders, three graduates of the Amsterdam Conservatory, saw a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of their instrument. Their goal? Creating a new composition in which the trombone takes center stage.
Since their inception, TINASE has performed at various locations in the Netherlands and has received masterclasses from Randy Brecker and Dave Taylor. They are currently working on their debut album with Marshall Gilkes as featured artist. The music is written by a mix of composers, with each piece carefully chosen to highlight TINASE’s sound world. The compositions range from melodic explorations to energetic grooves. The album will be released in the fall of 2024.
