Le chat noir
Le Chat Noir was a famous cafe in Paris’ Montmartre in 1900, where Eric Satie was the pianist. Great artists, writers, painters and composers of the time came together and entered the stage. The newest compositions by Satie were introduced in a cabaret manner, interspersed with dancers from the Moulin Rouge, and chansons. This atmosphere is also present in the show Le Chat Noir: a patchwork of styles and genres, and an unusual combination of musicians. Pearls of Satie and Debussy, chansons of Jacques Brel, and as a contemporary influence, Mike Svodoba has composed pieces based on texts by Satie. An atmospheric concert, in which the trombone is exposed from a surprising side.
